Deepika Padukone wants nothing more than to do a sports -based film. And if it is about badminton then nothing like it. "Look at what Chak De India did to hockey. I'd love to do a really good film on the game of badminton which is the family game." In fact efforts are on to put a project like this together. Deepika recently played bandminton with her dad Prakash Padukone recently. "We were playing together after a really long time.I like to contribute as much as possible to sports. Yes, I'd support badminton more than any other sport. But I'd like to support Indian sports in every way possible.This was the first time that we played in front of the media." While doing the intricate stunts and martial arts in Chandni Chowk To China Deepika Padukone got herself a chronically sprained ankle. "The stunts in Chandni Chowk To China were tough. Fortunately I got no broken bones. But I got a twisted ankle which will remain with me. My left ankle will remain sprained for all my life. I sprained it once while rehearsing and then I sprained the same ankle at exactly the same place twice again. Luckily it's not a fracture. But I can't sit cross-legged or sit on my hunches…I can't do anything that requires me to put my weight on my left leg." Being from an athletic family Deepika always wanted to do an action film. "Yes, I always wanted to do an action character. I'm glad I got an opportunity. Akshay Kumar was a fantastic co-star. The way he comes on the sets and goes through the scenes of the day and the way he improvises, is tremendous."

Deepika Padukone is doing the maximum endorsements. Last heard turned down the Nakshatra diamond deal after Aishwarya Rai's contract ended. They finally had to go to Katrina Kaif. What is the truth behind this? Says Deepika, "I don't know who else they went to. But they did come to me. And things didn't work out. I'm as selective about my endorsements as I am about my movies. I'd definitely endorse brands that I believe in. I'd like to represent brands that suit my age. I'm endorsing the Signature brand for Levis, Kingfisher airlines, Tissot. I'm good at time management. That comes from being a sport person. I started travellimg at a very young age. That taught me to be punctual. Sometimes one has to wait for things to happen on film sets. That's okay. There're so many things to be taken care of. So no, I don't get irritated by delays on film sets." So what irritates Deeepika? "People who lack common sense and who lie. Otherwise I'm quite tolerant."

We caught up with Kangna on the eve of the release of Fashion for a candid conversation. As the clock has started ticking for the arrival of the film at theaters across the globe, a pertinent question which one can't help but ask is - 'Who amongst the three actresses in Fashion would walk away with the honors. Over to Kangna:Priyanka has been hailed as the central protagonist in the film. Where do you and Mugdha fit in?(Smiles) Should I really be commenting on it at this moment when the film is ready to be seen by on and all? You should watch the film and you'll get to know.But with most of the promos centered on Priyanka, didn't you feel left out?I didn't. Because the central character of the film is Priyanka. Even the publicity stills and promos are giving the right impression of the film. People should not get the wrong notion about the movie that the promos were focused on one person and the story is about someone else.Madhur's realistic cinema has always raised eyebrows. Do you want to elaborate on Fashion is it again comes with similar traits?Raised eyebrows? I don't know in which way? But he has always been appreciated for the films that he has made. He has also won National Awards. I am sure that this film has a possibility of winning him one more award and I think its going to be a very high impact film rather than a controversial one.You have been a model yourself. That must have helped your performance in Fashion, right?(Scowls) Puhleeze, let me clarify this once again...and on the records. I was never a model! It is a misconception that some people have been carrying with themselves.After being in the industry for around 3 years, do you feel wiser when it comes to making career decisions?Today when I have to make a decision, I do feel much more confident and much stronger. I was just discussing with my friend the other day about how people change and how we grow up from inside.I was 18 yrs when I started, I am 21 today, tomorrow when I become 45 years and when I look back I won't be the same Kangna. At 18- I was different, at 21- I was different and at 45 also I will change. I do feel much wiser while talking decisions today. I feel stable today.Once upon a time, Kangna was a simple girl from Manali with big dreams. Has the world of glamour allowed that simplicity to remain?I think I was much more glamorous before I entered films. I was very funny as a person and I used to think of myself as a huge superstar compared to what I think of myself today. Like when I was in school I used to compare myself to American actors and Miss World and Miss Universe. But today after being in this world I don't feel glamorous anymore.Seriously?Yup, seriously. In fact I have become boring. I don't want to think about acting all the time. I have completely changed as a person, I am not exciting anymore and my life is not exciting anymore. I think, before I came into this glamorous world I was much more fun and funny and exciting as a person.What happens from here?Roshan should be releasing any time. Then there is Raaz 2 that is confirmed for January 2009. Kites is another film and I am also doing an international project!

Ayesha losing roles by refusing to strip, kiss

Ayesha Takia is shooting down roles that require her to wear skimpy clothes or get intimate with her co-star because she doesn't want to embarrass her family and boyfriend.Ayesha is aware that her more uninhibited colleagues are benefiting while she refuses to get bold on camera.'But I don't mind losing out on roles. At least 10 years from now I don't want to look back and cringe at anything. I've a family and a boyfriend. And I don't want to embarrass anyone,' Ayesha, who was recently seen in Sunday in a clean role, told IANS.'There're things that I wouldn't do, like kiss and wear certain kinds of clothes. And yes that does put me at a disadvantage. But I'm very happy with the work that I'm getting. After Dor, I'm being taken seriously as an actress.'She said no to Nagesh Kukunoor, who made Dor.'I just couldn't do the kissing scene in Aashayein. We tried to find a way out, but it didn't work out for me. Fortunately, for me, Nagesh is a dear friend. He didn't hold my 'no' against me. We completed Tasveer with Akshay Kumar in Canada. And there was nothing there to make me uncomfortable.'The actress has an exciting year ahead with films with big-league heroes.'I'm working with Akshay Kumar in Nagesh Kukunoor's supernatural-psychological thriller Tasveer. Then I've Prabhu Deva's Wanted, an action film with Salman Khan. Here I don't have much to do. I hang around doing whatever leading ladies do - sing, dance and purse my lips when the hero fights.'Candid in her self-assessment, she sees a boyfriend as no impediment to her career.'In fact, I'm so glad Farhan is no part of the industry. And that he's a self-made man who loves me for who I am. I don't think having a boyfriend is any problem for a career.'The only annoying part of having a boyfriend is that every time I've a release I'm informed by the press that I'm getting married in two months. It irritates me. When I get married I'll announce it from the rooftops. I'm proud of my boyfriend.'Last year she had a rough patch when Salaam-e-Ishq and No Smoking bombed.'Everyone kept asking why I reappeared in No Smoking in a double role. I'd like all questions about that film to be directed to Anurag Kashyap. I've no clue. It was a small role, just 10 days' work. I'd do another film for Anurag anytime. He's a friend.'
